On Saturday, March 2, United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama and Tuscaloosa Ballroom Dance Club are co‑hosting the Commoners Masquerade Ball – a Mardi Gras celebration to benefit UCPWA. The event is 7‑11 pm in the ballroom at Hotel Capstone (320 Paul W. Bryant Dr; Tuscaloosa, 35401); doors open at 6:30 pm. While the Tuscaloosa Big Band provides dance music 7-10 pm, ‘Nawlins‑style heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served, and the UCP Krewe of Commoners will crown a king and queen.
Attire: Revelers are encouraged to wear costumes or masks, to dress in purple, green, and gold, and to wear plenty of colorful Mardi Gras beads.
